THE WILDLIFE SOCIETY – TEXAS CHAPTER

Vision Statement:
The vision of the TCTWS is to assure a sustained diversity of wildlife and their habitats in Texas.

Mission Statement:
The TCTWS strives to become the acknowledged source of scientific information and expertise concerning wildlife biology and management in Texas. The TCTWS participates in a global society in which the conservation of wildlife is a common goal. Wildlife resource decisions are made after consideration of relevant scientific information, in consultation with wildlife professionals, and with the support of an informed and caring citizenry.

Chapter Objectives:

  1. Promote the professions related to conservation and management of wildlife resources.
  2. Disseminate information to the public concerning wildlife research, management, and conservation.
  3. Bring to the attention of The Society notable achievements in wildlife management in Texas.
    To accomplish these objectives, the Chapter aims to:
  4. Provide better liaison among Chapter members and administrative programs of The Society.
  5. Evaluate and respond to Society positions and actions that affect Texas wildlife and their habitats.
  6. Recognize and commend outstanding achievements in maintenance, restoration, and enhancement of wildlife
    habitats in Texas by both professional and non‐professional wildlifers.
  7. Focus the aims and objectives of The Society upon needs, problems, and events in Texas.
  8. Encourage communications between Chapter members and non‐members to facilitate understanding and
    effectiveness of research and management of Texas’ wildlife resources.
