SOUTH TEXAS COTTON & GRAIN ASSOCIATION

A Word About South Texas Cotton and Grain Association

South Texas Cotton and Grain Association (STCGA) was founded in 1963 by a group of South Texas farm growers and allied industry leaders who saw a need to become organized to represent area agriculture. Since that time, the association has been involved in a number of issues of local, state and national interests.

The organization’s main offices are located at Victoria in the Texas Crossroads. STCGA works with farm growers in a thirty-three county area that includes the Upper and Lower Coastal Bend and extends westward into the Texas Winter Garden.

STCGA has invested in the future of agriculture by supporting congressional intern programs through endowments at Texas A&M and Texas Tech Universities.  The Association has also invested in the future of sound farm policy analysis through endowment of the Agriculture & Food Policy Center (AFPC) at Texas A&M University.

Progressive farmers who earn a majority of their living by working the soil comprise the backbone of the membership of the organization.  A number of allied industry also support the association through associate memberships. Farmers may become members of the organization by making dues contributions at their local gin or grain storage facility.
